description | This song is low-pitched and eerie to listen to. It induces and amplifies gamma waves within the brain, causing a heightened state of fear in the target. This state lingers for about a minute after the song is stopped.
cons | Strong-willed people may not be as affected by this; some may even be immune. A shiver up the spine is usually still common for such people, however, since gamma waves cannot be consciously controlled by the target.

description | This song emits a frequency of sound waves that cause beta waves to be produced by the brain. These waves cause a deep, unnerving feeling of paranoia. In addition, the song carries small bursts of noise that, when received by the target's ears, sound like whispers. They will say incomprehensible things, but will be heard easily and will add to the paranoia the target is experiencing. Good for distractions or scare tactics.

description | This song is usually used on allies, though it may be used on oneself. It produces a particular frequency that disrupts present brain waves, creating a more alert state of consciousness via induced gamma waves. This song's only purpose is to shake someone from a genjutsu.
cons | If a genjutsu is especially strong (B-rank+) this technique will not work.

type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound

description | This song is fairly simple in its execution--Rena plays this song with two notes of 9,120 Hz. These notes are short and given great intensity with a small burst of chakra, and they in turn act as a great shock wave that pushes back nearby enemies. Targets hit with these notes will fly back about a dozen or so feet, more if they're injured or weak.
cons | Does not do any damage on its own. This song is usually only short- to mid-range. It uses up a bit more chakra than her other C-rank techniques due to the physical power required for the sound waves.
name | Song of Spark [Hibana no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | C
description | This song directly targets the nerves of the body via very strong, concentrated sound waves. 18 Hz sound waves will strike the opponent's body from all angles, hitting nerves and then vibrating them painfully fast. This resonance, which is entirely internal, wracks the opponent with very sharp jolts of pain, especially in areas of high nerve density such as the hands. Moving becomes rather painful and will slow down the target(s) struck. This song utilizes infrasound and is felt rather than heard. Rena may or may not add audible notes to the song for the ear-pleasing side-effect.
cons | The more enemies this is used on, the harder it is to precisely control the pain it inflicts. For example, one enemy will feel great pain whereas five enemies will feel less than intended if the song is used on all of them simultaneously.

type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | C
description | This song utilizes low-frequency waves that move at a frequency of about 65 Hz. The notes of this song trigger very heavy pressure on the chest, restricted breathing, fatigue, headache, and abdominal pain in the target. These effects will linger for several minutes after the song is stopped.
cons | Though the effects of this song make fighting as normal difficult, there are no long-term damages. Requires a good degree of focus so the right sound waves are produced.
name | Song of Two [Ni no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | C
description | This song utilizes low-frequency waves that move at a frequency of about 59 Hz. The notes of this song induce visual distortion in the target, making him see doubles of whoever or whatever is in his range of vision. This, in a way, mimics the clone technique in its effectiveness--the real attacker will be surrounded by several identically-moving copies in the target's eyes, making it difficult for the target to defend from attacks or strike the correct person. The effects of this song are disorienting but will end once the song stops.
cons | There are no actual injuries caused. Though it can be used on numerous enemies, it would take more chakra than usual to do so.
name | Song of Heart [Chuushin no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | C
description | This song induces brain waves at a particular frequency--15 Hz. These are beta waves. Rena manipulates the intensity of this song via her chakra to cause her target to feel intense physical attraction for her. This is not easily overridden as it takes great hold of the target's instinctual feelings. An individual under the spell of this song will be allured by her, easily drawn to her words and touch. This song is one that Rena may use to help her seduce an enemy during a mission, if necessary. Though she mainly created it to mess with Satoshi on boring Saturday nights.
cons | Will only work on one person at a time, and only if that person is already attracted to women.
name | Song of Balance [Kinkou no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | C
description | This song utilizes low-frequency waves at a frequency of about 45 Hz. These sound waves specifically target the opponent's inner and middle ear--distorting their equilibrium. It would be impressive to see one continue walking or running with any degree of normalcy while being influenced by this song. It is common for the target to stumble frequently, lose balance and fall, mis-step, mis-judge distances, and lose their footing during simple maneuvers.
cons | If the target remains still, loss of balance isn't as big of an issue. Effects cease when this song is stopped.
name | Song of Vision [Bijon no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | B
description | This song utilizes low-frequency waves that move at a frequency of about 55 Hz. Conscious intelligence levels are heavily damaged (such as the ability to work with numbers and equations mentally), muscular coordination becomes poor, speech may be slurred, spacial perception is very distorted, and some weaker targets may even black-out. The effects linger for several minutes after the song stops.
cons | Requires much focus when playing. The user must be careful not strike allies with this song--the closer one is to the user, the more intense the waves become--making the side-effects of hearing it all the more potent and longer-lasting.
name | Song of Stone [Ishi no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | B
description | This song's sound waves move at 15 Hz and induce a heavy form of paralysis on the body. The nerves of the target are temporarily stunned from the notes' effect on the brain's signals, making any movement very difficult. One will be significantly slowed and for the most part immobile while this song plays. After it is played the effects typically wear off within a few minutes. Because this song's frequency is infrasonic, Rena intermixes audible notes to cover up the silent, harmful ones that cannot be picked up by humans. The resulting tune is beautiful but very potent.
cons | Effects last for only one target post after song is played. This song requires more chakra than most other equally ranked songs since it influences the entire body at once.
name | Song of Shattering [Hyoumenka no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | B
description | This song's sound waves are intense enough to resonate at the same speed of the particles in the ground. Rena aims these sound waves toward her opponent's feet using wind--the ground beneath them will collapse into the earth, crumbling within seconds to form a very deep fissure about 20 yards deep and 3 yards wide.
cons | Requires decent control over the sound waves to work. Those with great reflexes may be able to avoid falling into the fissure if they are quick enough.
name | Song of Fire [Hi no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | B
description | This song utilizes two frequencies that induce brain waves of 40 Hz in her target. These are gamma waves. They give the target much higher mental activity, allowing them to think "faster," perceive the world around them with better clarity, have more energy and general alertness, and overall be a better fighter. This song is very beautiful and is very inspiring and upbeat--which help make it all the more effective. Effects last for a decent time after the song is stopped.
Rena often plays this song for Satoshi in combat.
cons | This song can only be used on up to two people at a time. One person is usually the norm, though, because it takes great focus to control separate frequencies of sound in order to induce particular brain waves.
name | Song of Sky [Sora no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | B
description | This song functions the same as a dog whistle, only instead of calling animals it is aimed at hurting them. This song's frequency is 25,000 Hz. Humans cannot hear the ultrasonic waves, though, so Rena may add in extra notes so that it sounds like any other song. This song is very loud to animals--it is extremely disorienting and causes a massive headache. Animals in range of this song will suffer greatly and will find it very difficult to move and function normally or with any great amount of balance.
cons | Effects last only for the duration of the song. Will affect all animals nearby--including allied summons. Does not have any effect on humans.
name | Song of Force [Chikara no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | This song is a much more powerful version of her Song of Rush technique. The notes of this song are ranged from 9,500 to 10,000 Hz--audible and powered by chakra. They form a large shock wave that will be sent out in whatever direction Rena chooses. These waves are powerful enough to force away projectiles, enemies, animals, rock and earth, and some lower-ranked water techniques.
cons | Will not be effective against fire and lightning. Each wave must be controlled precisely with chakra, or the shock waves will move haphazardly and may strike either Rena or her allies. Proper control of chakra is needed for the sound's frequency to be controlled safely, as well--the wrong frequency can cause great injury to allies.
name | Song of Night [Yabun no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | Utilizes infrasonic waves. These waves, moving at about 7 Hz, resonate at the same frequency of the target's organs. This causes small tears to form in the lungs, stomach, liver, intestines, the brain, and the heart. These tears won't kill right away but they do cause moderate internal bleeding and will eventually kill the target if not treated within 4 posts by the target. Due to the tearing, this song also causes great pain, leaving opponents gasping or crying from the agony. The harmful waves of this tune are silent; Rena intermixes them with audible notes so that others can hear the song. If undercover or hiding, however, she may play the song silently. This song's sound waves will be felt by the target even if they are not heard. Due to this song being infrasonic, covering one's ears will not block the waves--they will merely travel through the skull to the brain and other organs. This song will also affect any animals in the area. Organ tearing will cease once the song is stopped.
cons | Requires a decent amount of chakra. Requires great focus to use for long periods of time. Without proper focus, this song may accidentally strike allies.
name | Song of Sorrow [Hitan no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | This song is a short blast of notes in the 7 Hz frequency range. These three notes are intensified and will strike the target with great force. This massive, sudden exposure of sound acts as a powerful shock wave that forces the target away from the user by several dozen feet. In the process, these waves blast the target's ear drums, bombarding the delicate drum and inner ear with waves. This completely ruptures the ears and tears the drum--causing significant and very painful loss of hearing. This song is silent unless Rena chooses to add audible notes.
cons | Requires a moderate burst of chakra and precise focus of it. Typically is short- to mid-range, and can only be used on 1-2 targets at a time.
name | Song of Pain [Itami no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | This song performs exactly as its name implies. At a frequency of 7 Hz, these silent sound waves penetrate the body and painfully wrack the brain's signals to the target's nervous and muscle systems. The signals for movement are replaced with those of pain--enough to make the target see exploding stars or quite possibly pass out if they have a lower tolerance. In a way it is phantom pain--the body is not being harmed but the brain makes the target think it is. The interrupted signals temporarily stun the nerves, as well. The target's body becomes paralyzed from his limbs down to smaller parts such as the vocal cords. This usually results in a person standing or laying still gasping and trying in vain to scream or cry out. This song is silent, but the intensity can easily be felt in the air by targets.
cons | Requires a moderate amount of chakra. The effects of this song end once the song is ended, give or take a few moments for recovery.
name | Song of Spiral [Rasen no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | This song is the ultimate in disorientation. The sound waves have a frequency of about 10 Hz. These disrupt normal brain activity and cause extreme disorientation--the target's world will blur, spin, and explode with color before his/her eyes. Balance will be heavily impaired, and due to decreased brain activity it would be very difficult for the target to speak coherent sentences, let alone think them up with any real clarity. This song mentally cripples the target for however long the user plays it. The notes themselves are silent unless audible notes are mixed in, though the song will be felt with great intensity by anyone who would otherwise be hearing it.
cons | Requires a moderate amount of chakra. The effects are not permanent--they only last for the song's duration, and do not cause actual injury.
name | Song of Calm [Taira no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | This song is the top technique in relaxation--it is the stronger form of Rena's "Song of Rest." The sound waves of this song have a particular frequency that induces a brain wave frequency of 4 Hz. These brain waves are delta waves--they are associated with very deep sleep and loss of body awareness. One hearing this song will very quickly fall either into slumber or a very relaxed state. If one gives in to this song they will find sleep much easier and more relaxing. If one resists his/her body will still feel incredibly relaxed, heavy, and will be much slower to react. Effects last for as long as the song is played--though if one falls asleep they will generally stay asleep until something else wakes them.
Rena sometimes uses this technique to help Satoshi get to sleep.
cons | Requires a moderate amount of chakra and does not cause actual injury. This song is very intense to any listeners and therefore requires a good deal of focus on the user's part.
name | Song of Dusk [Koukon no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | This song is at a low frequency of approximately 52 Hz and directly affects the sight of the target. The brain's signals to the eyes (as well as those received by the brain) are disrupted, as these waves are so intense that they actually stun the optical nerves in the body--those responsible for sight. These nerves are not severed but are very badly stunned, leaving the target temporarily blind. The one struck will be in complete darkness for the entirely of one target post, half blind in the following target post, and mostly recovered in the third target post.
cons | Requires a moderate amount of chakra. The effects are not permanent--they eventually wear off and do not do permanent damage.
name | Song of Wake [Sougishiki no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | This song is 3 simple notes and works by inducing very intense gamma waves in the brain. This very rapidly forces the user to become highly receptive to her environment, her own senses, and logic. This allows Rena to snap herself out of a daze to overcome fatigue, genjutsu, and the like. If she suspects she is in an illusion, this song is a good way to affirm or deny it. If there is no illusion, this song's induced brain waves (40 Hz) will still give her a sense of alertness and better thinking in combat.
cons | Requires a moderate amount of chakra, with an additional burst if the illusion she is trying to escape has an especially tight hold on her senses. Can only be used on Rena herself.
name | Song of Shock [Dageki no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | This song is two notes--two very high-intensity notes packed with chakra and infrasonic effect (between 5 Hz and 7 Hz). This song is a quick burst that forms shock waves which radiate outward in all directions from Rena. These shock waves blast back anything they touch--projectiles, people, animals, etc. These waves also have a high chance of rupturing organs and even cracking smaller bones. The range of this attack depends on how much chakra and force she pours into it, but an average would be about 15-20 feet in all directions. Peripheral force is felt at an extended 5 or so feet.
cons | Ideal when surrounded but not when alongside allies. This technique requires a decent amount of chakra but not much focus overall.
name | Song of Ruin [Metsubou no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | This song utilizes ultrasonic waves to resonate at the speed of the target's flesh. The sound waves will vibrate incredibly fast, leaving a very hot burning sensation as the skin of the opponent is torn apart. This is visible as large, gaping lines in the skin--they look like insanely painful claw marks. These wounds will bleed horribly and burn like fire. More severe fissures in the flesh may, on occasion, even expose muscle tissue due to their depth.
cons | Requires little focus but much chakra to use. The longer the song is played, the more damage is done--ideally Rena should not stop the song until the desired amount of injury has been inflicted. If stopped prematurely, it takes a heavier toll on her chakra than it normally would. Also, the longer this song plays, the more it hurts the opponent--but at the cost of additional chakra.
name | Song of Love [Ai no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound, Wind
rank | S
description | This song is an extremely powerful manipulation of sound with added supplementary wind to reinforce the technique. Rena plays her flute with two notes and unleashes a massive amount of chakra that is forced into the air around her body. This forms a visible barrier of dense, white chakra focused loosely around her figure and whoever else she is very close to. As this barrier is formed, she uses wind to form a spinning, cutting vortex that repels projectiles of any sort and cuts into enemies, ice, rock, and the like with the force of a vacuum wave. Finally, the notes she plays kick in, giving herself a new, alert state of consciousness via a small burst of gamma waves. This allows her faster reflexes and thinking ability, though not much else. This technique's chakra barrier is the display of the great control Rena has over it. This technique can be expanded to protect herself and just one other person. The barrier will shield those inside from physical strikes and elemental attacks by 1) not allowing people or objects to get close because of the slicing layer of wind, and 2) taking the brunt of elemental attacks because the chakra surrounding the user is so incredibly thick. This combined defense is Rena's own unique specialty--her strongest song to shield herself from especially powerful bombardments.
cons | Uses up nearly half of her chakra. After maintaining this technique for any extended period of time, she will find herself fairly tired if the attacks used against her are especially strong.
name | Song of Ivory [Zouge no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | S
description | This song's frequency is carefully manipulated to break bone. Besides it being of an ultrasonic level, the intensity is augmented with a burst of chakra. This results in moderate, silent shock waves that pierce the air at immense speeds. They strike the target from multiple angles, impacting the skeletal system with great force. This force is felt in the form of tangible impacts that wrack the body, pushing and swaying its movement from all directions. This sound wave bombardment forms cracks in the target's bones and will break them once an exposure of about 5 seconds has passed--the length of her song. This song is dangerous because a broken arm can mean the difference between life and death. A broken arm can make kenjutsu techniques impossible, a broken leg can rule out the option of running from an attack or escaping at all, a broken vertebrae in the spine can cause intense and crippling paralysis, etc.
cons | A very dense rock can shield one from this technique temporarily, though the rock will get broken apart by the waves after several moments of exposure. This technique requires a decent amount of chakra but more focus than anything. If this song is interrupted and Rena loses control of it suddenly, the waves have a high chance of hitting her and fracturing her own bones.
name | Song of Despair [Zetsubou no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | S
description | This is one of Rena's most powerful songs. The sound waves of this song move at a frequency of 7 Hz and are made incredibly intense with chakra--so much so that even at very long ranges enemies will feel the effects (albeit weaker). These sound waves penetrate the body and resonate at the same frequency as organs, causing them to tear open and bleed. This is a much more powerful version of her Song of Night technique. This technique will kill the target very quickly if the song is allowed to be played through one time. Usually Rena relies on an outside form of defense while she plays this, as its strongest peak of destruction is reached at the ending notes. The song is silent, and may be used while she is hiding. However, due to the sheer intensity of these waves, the opponent will know she is nearby even if he/she cannot see her yet. This song takes effect usually within 10 seconds, as that is how long it takes to complete it. Only a very powerful, full-body healing jutsu of the highest caliber could stop this technique. If untreated, the target will most assuredly die within either the following target post or the one after it.
cons | This song can, due to its power, only be used on one person at a time. It requires a great deal of focus and also a very high amount of chakra--it will drain her of much of her physical energy from the amount of chakra she expends. If the song is stopped, the current damage remains but no more injury will be incurred (minus any internal bleeding already present).
tsukiyami rena || jutsu
Rena's jutsu work in sets, or "melodies," that she plays with her flute. Each melody requires a set of hand signs. These signs charge her flute with chakra that will manipulate sound waves and the air around her in different ways as she then plays the songs that belong to each melody's respective group. Hand signs are needed only when Rena switches melody groups.

cons | Will only work on one person at a time, and only if that person is already attracted to women.
name | Song of Balance [Kinkou no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | C
description | This song utilizes low-frequency waves at a frequency of about 45 Hz.
MIDNIGHT MELODY
boar → ram → monkey → bird → horse → rat
boar → ram → monkey → bird → horse → rat
name | Song of Sky [Sora no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | B
description | This song functions the same as a dog whistle, only instead of calling animals it is aimed at hurting them.
CONSUMING MELODY
tiger → rabbit → boar → dragon → ram → bird → dragon
tiger → rabbit → boar → dragon → ram → bird → dragon
name | Song of Shock [Dageki no Uta]
type | Ninjutsu
element | Sound
rank | A
description | This song is two notes--two very high-intensity notes packed with chakra and infrasonic effect (between 5 Hz and 7 Hz).
