→ eyes | H E R . E Y E S . H O L D . T H E . A P O C O L Y P S E Miyoko's eyes are an almost metallic-gray, graphite-ish colour-- they seem more like a shade rather than a true hue. They sometimes appear to be a gradient, from the black of her pupils to the whites of her eyes, with the iris being darker towards the inner ring and getting lighter as it extends outwards. When using her Kouki Seigyo, her eyes appear to almost glow, or shine in a way that give them that effect.
→ hair | D A R K . H A I R ' D . R I D E R Her hair is almost identical in colour to her eyes, a natural gray (uninfluenced by age or stress), though a tad bit lighter. She typically leaves it down, where it grazes the bottom of her shoulder blades. Bangs frame the uppermost parts of her face, while longer and looser strands come down to curtain the sides. She feels it's too thick, and it gets hot and irritates her neck at times, but she loves the maintenance-free aspect of it, which is why she keeps it so.
→ height | S T A N D . O N . Y O U R . F E E T Having always been on the taller side of the norm, though that is a common trait within her clan, she stands at about 5' 8". In actuality, this is on the lower part of average for the Seishous-- her aunt and sister are both taller than she is.
→ weight | P I E C E . O F . P I E Her near constant training since childhood has lent her a very lithe, muscular frame-- her inability to perform ninjutsu/genjutsu since a young age made her try even harder to perfect her physical attacks, and thus, her body had to become a solid machine despite her naturally small frame. She weighs about one hundred and thirty-three pounds. → proper equipment | D E V I L . I N . A . B L A C K . D R E S S
- Daily (Ninja Attire) → Miyoko tends to dress more for convenience than for appearance. On a day to day basis, she wears a snug, long-sleeved gray shirt, covered by a ANBU-reminiscent black vest. Her black, loose pants tuck into the tops of her black boot-styled sandals, with a kunai holder tied to her right thigh. The vest has a Sound village symbol stitched into the back, with the kanji for 'Kurai' below it.
- Casual (Civilian Outfit) → When in public and not wishing to draw attention to her ninja status for whatever reason, she tends to be outfitted more much simply... And scantily. A dark gray tank top that barely covers her naval, with black shorts that don't even reach her fingertips when standing straight with arms down. Black boots ride three-quarters of the way up her calf, and though her appearance is ridiculously plain and almost painfully drab in theme, it suits her.

Miyoko has two particularly distinguishing features. The first, and more often seen, is the tattoo that spans across her right shoulder. She wishes she could say it had some special meaning, but in all reality, she got it as a bet while drunk for the first time, not being able to really hold her liquor. However, she still is rather fond of the design, and is pleased with the results. The second is a thin but prominent surgical-looking scar that spans across her lower naval, from the emergency c-section she received at age seventeen. When upset, she'll rub her hand across it, often subconsciously. When she realizes she she is doing, she immediately stops and grows even more angry. → inventory | H A V E . G U N , W I L L . - Mastery over Kouki Seigyo
Having activated her kekkei genkai during her Child Battle at age ten, Miyoko was basically forced into dedicating herself to become a master at it, given the loss of all of her other techniques. Although she had gained a huge gift, she had been stripped of all her previous moves, and strengths. No longer did it matter she could produce a flawless bunshin when she had no chakra to do so. As a result, the same constant regime her father had forced on her from the time she was five started anew, but this time towards a more specific purpose-- to be able to control and manipulate the energy around her. She took well to her new abilities, and quickly advanced at rates that were hardly seen within her clan. Deemed a natural with the Kouki Seigyo, once she turned fifteen, her mastery over the kekkei genkai allowed her the title of "The Seishou," given to the members of their clan, who, every so often, showed such a gift.
- Leadership
Having been raised from birth as the next hopeful leader of her clan, instilled in her were ideals and hopes that would later go on to shape her current abilities. She knows how to be diplomatic, and has a natural charisma that she was born with, in terms with gaining the respect and liking of others. Fair and smart, she understands how to keep those under her in line without much violence (though she is quick to turn so if directly disobeyed or disrespected), giving them a little so as to gain a lot in regards to their loyalty.
- Being kind of a bitch
Her experiences from a young age, from the child battle that had her kill her own cousin at age ten, to watching her best friend who was also her cousin die in front of her at age sixteen, and then the loss of her child and ability to be a perceived leader of her clan, has all left Miyoko with a callous way of dealing with situations. She has no problem with being blunt and overly straightforward-- sometimes tactlessly. Used to getting what she wants, she'll do most anything to get it, including using and hurting those in the way. It would be hard to get where she is without a degree of bitchiness. In addition, she can be grudging and spiteful, if she's in a mood. [/li][li]Objectiveness One of the first things she was trained to do once she was told she would become leader of her clan was to be objective. Her father would give her various situations, and would command her to make a decision without bias, and looking at the best possible solution. Depending on her responses, she would be reprimanded or praised, and her naturally analytic mind made it almost too easy. Now it behooves her as a trait as the leader of Kurai, and she is adept at taking her emotions and bias out of the equation in order to make the best choice to further her goals along. [/li][li]Manipulating In addition to being objective, she was also taught to take advantage of the things around her. Not only is she opportunistic as a result, she's also very manipulative. Her charm is something she uses often, and she is no stranger to using pretty words and lowering herself to ego-stroking to get what she wants. She hardly has any lines she will draw to reach those things, which includes lying, seduction, or promises of power. [/li][li]Devil-May-Care Attitude Though she's a good actress, and can make others think she cares, she really doesn't. The most important thing to her is her organisation, and past that-- she really just doesn't care. And in a casual, normal basis, that's the vibe others will get from her. However, she does recognize her need to show compassion and caring for those under her wing, per se, and does a good job of at least mimicking those emotions. This attitude she carries makes it hard to anger her, and makes it easier for her to take advantage of others because she kinda just doesn't give a shit if it's wrong or right, and has no reason to stay under society's standard's, social or otherwise. [/li][li]Doing what is necessary When it comes down to it, and things have to get done, Miyoko is no stranger to being the one to get the balls rolling. She is not one to hesitate, as she was taught from a very young age that she had to be the one, always, to strike first. That mentality has followed her into adulthood, and still applies to her now. She is not against performing deeds that others would balk at, and doesn't find it too pressing on her conscience to do them. Apparent through the massive amount of murders she has called for, torture, installation of drug cartels to create more control, etc. [/li][li]Winning Another trait ingrained in her from childhood was the intense need to win, at all costs. Mostly because of the child battle she was destined to participate in, but also so that she would become a suitable leader for the clan, if she lived. Perhaps, also, because her father expected no less than the best from her and she was loathe to disappoint him. As a result, winning became something she was rather good at, and still is now. [/li][/ul] → weaknesses | O V E R . M Y . H E A D - Cannot use jutsu
Her main, and probably worst weakness, is her inability to perform any kind of jutsu. She does not even have the ability to make a E-rank clone. Once she activated her Kouki Seigyo, all chakra networks were taken over and completely changed into energy channels, which only work in junction with her clan's energy techniques. Anything that requires chakra, she cannot do. However, in addition, anything that would normally change or mess with chakra does not affect her-- ie, genjutsu.
- Temptation of power
Miyoko tends to not be able to settle for what she has. As former leader of her clan, she has held power in her hand for a long time, and she is not quick to relinquish it. Instead, relying on her manipulative and opportunistic ways, she tends to try and find ways in which to gain even more. She will not risk her current standing to further her position, but has no qualm with hurting others to doing so. [/li][li]Long-range opponents Her kekkei genkai has long-range attacks, yes, but they are not very accurate, and she has to rely on the hopes of her opponent being close enough to the attack that the resulting explosion or wave still hits them. An opponent who, for example, relies completely on long range attacks would be at the advantage, though she would be able to throw up a shield and wait it out, if it came down to it. But she would still be hard-pressed to win on an offensive, though she had a suitable defense. She just has no real offense, as most of her techniques require her to be in range as they grow weaker the further away they get. [/li][li]Prone to hold grudges Something her father tried to get rid of in her, Miyoko can't help her tendency to hold grudges. The best example is in her hate for most Konoha shinobi. Although the ones who she battled at age seventeen, who ambushed her escort mission, were technically rogues, their hitai-ate named them as Konoha nin. Although rationale tells her to let it go, her heart keeps her hateful towards them. She can still look at things from an objective angle, but if she can land a blow without having severe repercussions, she would do it in an instant. So long as it would not harm her in the long run. [/li][li]Gets noticeably upset around children Ever since she lost her own child, when she sees smaller children and babies, she'll often get upset. Although she likes to claim she hates the little buggers, she's really just still trying to deal with the effects of having suffered that loss, close to eight years later. She adores and protects her sister, as once did the same for her younger cousin who she had lost and viewed as a younger sibling. With time, she may return to liking them, but for right now they are a painful reminder of what was taken from her. [/li][li]Attractive people/sex After breaking off her engagement, and recovering from her injuries that resulted in the loss of her baby, Miyoko turned to drinking and sleeping around to distract herself from the pain of that. Although becoming the leader of Kurai has cured her of most of the drinking problem, she still does hold a particular weak spot to attractive people, and sleeps around when she feels like it. This pertains to both male and females, as she has learned both genders are equally skilled in giving pleasure, if the chance is to be had. [/li][li]Ego-Stroking Having been a child that spent her years feeding off the praise handed to her, Miyoko sometimes grows too relaxed around people who admire her. She is more likely to drop her guard if she is flattered, though if it's too outright or out of place, or verging on too over the top, she'll immediately grow suspicious. Mostly, it's a situational thing. [/li][/ul] → personality | F R O M . T H E . I N S I D E Seishou Miyoko is, in summary, a bitch of a leader with more than a few traits that people would tend to dislike. She's determined and has a drive to succeed at all costs, and has been raised from the moment she could walk to win and be a leader-- quite literally. Holding an understanding of what it takes to make it, she has no qualms with doing almost literally anything to get what she wants, and tends to be overly ambitious in her goals, and has been described as power-hungry.
The Kurai leader is not stupid, however, by any means. She's very intelligent, and extremely manipulative, with a knack for acting. All in all, a very dangerous combination, evident on the havoc she has managed to wreak on the world. Much time is spent thinking of what she does before she does it, and she spends most of her spare time thinking of ways to accomplish her goals without much violence-- it seems like a waste of manpower to her, though she is not opposed to using it to get what she desires. A natural sort of charisma, which has been said to admire those beneath her, flourishes inside of her, and is a main factor in how she was able to gain so much support so young, and in so little time. Despite this, given the events in her past, she has grown rather callous and almost too cynical of the world around her, often adopting a rather devil-may-care attitude along with a kind of bitchy way of doing things when they don't affect the things important to her-- namely, her position, and her family, and often times, the people she leads. Although opposing gangs and enemies might believe her to be a ruthless dictator, she is far from it-- she is just strict and rules over them with a iron fist, but stays true to the social contract. If they serve her, she will provide for them. If they fail, they are punished. It's a simple way, but a way that is apparently working.
In addition, she is typically fair to her enemies. She does not employ cruel and unusual punishment unless for a particular purpose, ie, information gain, the exception being if she feels that the prisoner in question is deserving of it for their actions towards her followers. Her prisons are full of Hozuki and other rebels because though she is loathe to release them, she is just as reluctant to flat out kill them. Once more, to her, it's a waste. The reluctance is not to be mistaken for empathy or sentiment, though. Instead, she sees these captured shinobi as a chance later to rebuild. If they cause problems, she has no qualms with killing them-- but usually in a quick and humane manner.
On the flip side, she does have her weaknesses. She's susceptible to flattery, and tends to get distracted by attractive people. This doesn't mean, however, that she is suddenly defenseless in the presence of someone she finds physically alluring. She just tends to force herself onto them more, which does in turn leave her more open for attack.
The loss of her child so young still affects her greatly, and she often finds herself in times where she feels like an absolute failure in most regards, and at these times falls into drinking and sex as a way to escape the dark thoughts. Although she's not so much into the drinking park now, seven years later, she still does turn to sex a lot-- perhaps subconsciously in attempts to have another, though the damage sustained means she cannot. This also leads her to not like the company of children, and she is uneasy when forced to watch or care for them-- they remind her of her own loss and that hurts her more than anything. If one would really want to offend her, they would simply have to point out her lack of offspring, and she'd probably fly off the handle at them, igniting a very rarely lit temper.
Said temper is usually very quiet and calm. Miyoko is hard pressed to get angry, and it tends to be because of a jab at her leadership skills (which she prides herself in), or being alone, which she is growing to hate. As of recent, she's grown more tired with her position in life, and doesn't seem as invigorated towards her initial purpose as she originally was. Perhaps this is because she sees that despite her goal of unifying the entire shinobi world under one name being for a greater good, there will always be people who disagree, and they are the ones who destroy the Utopian ideal. However, she still fights to succeed, not willing to give up so close to her goal.

In combat, Miyoko is a hard person to even get a hit on. Her kekkei genkai and her proficiency in it allow her to hold shields of impenetrable energy up around her, making most attacks useless. She has many long ranged attacks, though they are all fairly easy to dodge, and even has large scale 'wave' attacks to drive back many opponents.
However, her favourite method of fighting would be using the 'Energy Strike' technique. It's a difficult one to learn in her clan because of the level of control it requires from the user, and the amount of energy it takes at such a rapid rate, but most people (if they attempt close combat with her) will find themselves very out of their norm. Yuudaru Kai || Former Fiancé
Kai was a very gifted young man who had been designated to become her husband from the day she accepted clan leadership. Four years her superior, he was nineteen when she was fifteen, and though it was arranged, he quickly developed feelings for her over the following year, perhaps a combination of their time spent together and the physical relationship they, as expected, shared. However, she did not reciprocate, though she did a good job on acting like a proper wife-to-be. Miyoko would put up with his boastful personality, occasionally finding it somewhat endearing, but mostly annoying. When she turned seventeen and grew pregnant with his child, he was absolutely enthralled-- he was proud and couldn't wait to be a father, and it was only then that Miyoko really grew to hold any sort of feelings for him, upon seeing his excitement over their soon-to-be child. After the mission that killed the baby, though, Miyoko cut him out of her life without a word, and when she handed over the leadership of the clan back to her father, also called off their engagement. Kai was devastated, and though he begged her to change her mind because he held more feelings than just that for her, she ignored him and went on a downward spiral of self-harm, to which he tried to save her from. In a bout of anger she almost crushed him, and it was only after this event that he left her alone. She only saw him on the job after that, and currently does not know if he is even alive or dead. Kyoshoku Kemuri || Business Partner
After establishing a business pact with the rogue, it became apparent their hate for Fumetsuhi wasn't the only thing they shared. Solely physical, and something she would not mind delving into again.

Miyoko has never been in a long-term relationship, as she does not count her former engagement. She sleeps around as she pleases, and that makes pairing her up with any specific person kinda hard. F O R . T H E . I T C H Miyoko has a problem with flirting with just about every attractive person she comes into contact with. More physical, when thinking or upset she will rub the surgery scar across her naval-- if she realizes she she is doing, she grows notably irked. → fears | T E R R I B L E . T H I N G S
Miyoko's main fear is being rejected, or losing. She was raised to be a winner, and she finds it not only a blow to her pride to either fail or be turned down, but she is afraid of it. The Kurai leader is also terrified, after having almost killed herself performing a too-large technique, that she'll do so again and die. After having lost her best friend at age sixteen she was hard-pressed to allow people to grow close to her, and this was only amplified by how she thought Kai would view her after the incident. As a result, she's almost borderline afraid of committment, because she is afraid of getting hurt again. But she would never admit it. → dreams | I ' V E . G O T . A . D R E A M
She kinda has a thing for wanting to rule over everything, though she doesn't know exactly what she plans on doing with that power when she gets there. So she sat for awhile longer, sipping at it while flirting with another woman who approached and sat next to her, delaying the inevitable. When it was gone, she sighed and excused herself from the drunk girl, ordering another drink before asking the barmaid of the white-haired woman’s room. The blonde told her with a knowing smile, sliding the refilled drink over to her before returning to her other patrons. Moving towards the network of rooms, Miyoko only wished that the barmaid was right. But no, scroll tucked into the waistband of her shorts for lack of a better place to put them and her glass in her hand, she walked until she reached the right door. Not bothering to knock, the Lady opened the door and stepped in, lazy eyes glancing around before she closed it behind her. It was fairly simple, comfortably outfitted, and would work well enough for what they were apparently there for. She turned to her colleague, and she felt no guilt at all for having made her wait so long. Grabbing the scroll, she tossed it in Niashi’s direction. “Well, here I am, Snowflake,” she said in an almost bored tone. Really, she treated these kinds of things far too casually—it was a wonder that she had made and retained her position. The thought made her smirk a bit. “It’s a fairly simple idea and all, and since I did come, obviously I’m interested.” Sipping her drink, rolling the alcohol around in her mouth for a moment, she looked anything but interested. “But it’s not as easy as that.” Stepping forward into the room, she did not take a seat yet, choosing to remain standing. “A lot of it is simple geography,” she mused, picking at a loose thread of her tank top idly. “My country shares its border with the Land of Fire, empty land to the West, sea to the North, and then the Hot Springs land to the East.” Letting that hang in the air, she shrugged. “So in essence, if this does go through and shit hits the fan... Pardon my language,” she interjected almost sarcastically, “I’ll be one of the first hit, and hardest, by the end.“I hope you realize that I’m not someone to be easily manipulated and deceived, Lady Niashi.” Her gray eyes sought out white-blue, still very lax and failing to reflect the seriousness of the discussion thus far. “It’s going to take some convincing to get me to agree to any sort of alliance. And you’d be best in skipping over any fancy skippy to-do politician talk, and to just get down to things.” Crossing an arm under her chest, she smirked, a bit too hinting. “So let’s see what you’ve got.”[/blockquote]
[/blockquote]

Seishou Miyoko’s birth on the thirty-first of October, twenty-five years ago, could at the very least be said to have been unfortunate. She was the first child of the eldest Seishou in the generation preceding her—and in so was given a set date in which, ten years later, she would face her possible demise.
Her father, Zukoi, was crestfallen by the fact she was a girl. In his eyes, it set her up for future failure. Her cousin rival, Takun, was a boy, and already three years old—advantageous in terms of strength and the difference in age. But there was something about his child that seemed different that would come to encourage him to have faith in her—she was quiet even as a newborn, very still and content to observe her surroundings. The oddity of a baby worried her mother, but her father took it as a sign of a hope. Maybe the babe would pick up on things quicker than most, and catch up in time to prevent her own death.
And so she did. With constant encouragement from her father, and the gentle coaxing of her mother, Miyoko was quick to grasp onto her fundamentals. From crawling and babbling to walking and talking, she did it early. By the end of her second year, her father wasn’t just hopeful that she might skim by in her child battle—no, he was confident that with enough training and dedication, he would be able to prime her into such a form that could easily challenge and win back the title of Reigning to the Riroku line, absent as it had been for the past four generations.
Since official training could not begin, by clan standard, until she reached five years old, Zukoi came up with different ‘games’ that would suffice as a head-start. These games tested her observational skills, heightened her ability to sense things around her by rewarding her for doing so successfully, and overall, began to sow the seeds of the mentality she would later form—that her best had to be perfection, and she needed to do everything at her best. Although she was not punished or beat when she failed, even the three and a half year old knew when she had done something to sadden her father, and this was enough to make her give her all, even at such a young age.
By the time she reached five, she was so used to being drilled in various activities that the new regime of training was no new thing. She fell into the habit of training until she dropped, working on chakra control and basic jutsu with her father, who practically burst with pride every time she succeeded. Although he was not supposed to be informed on her rival’s accomplishments, in a village as small as Otagakure, it was hard not overhear things. Especially within clan members. Her rival, Takun, was at best a mediocre student—he excelled in hand-to-hand combat, but could barely create a functioning bunshin by age nine, whereas she could do it age age six. And it was this information that kept Zukoi hard on Miyoko, confident in her abilities and in her rival’s shortcomings.
But through all of this, Miyoko did not really understand why she was being trained so intensely. Her cousin, who was only two years her younger, was not trained nearly to the degree she was. When she had brought it up previously, when he had first turned five and she had offered to help him with his training (to which he had looked confused), her father had silenced her and sent her to her room, telling her not to question things that were none of her business. It had been that night that she had heard her parents argue, and though it concerned her, she knew better than to disobey her father.
Soon after this argument, her mother gave birth to her younger sister, Hikaru. Miyoko was quick to grow an attachment to the babe, and viewed it as her responsibility to protect the little Seishou from any harm that came her way. A difference also came over the way things happened in her life. Miyoko found herself with more time for herself than she had had before—she now spent time with her cousin, playing games and teaching him new skills, and her younger sister, who she promised to watch over forever. Her father did not involve himself nearly as much in her life, and it worried her. Never had she known a time when she was allowed so many breaks when it could be spent training or learning a new skill.
Once more, she raised question. Her parents simply passed it off as her getting older and stronger, and not needing it as much. As young as she was, it was not a very believable tale.Eeeeeverybodyknew that you only trained more the older you got, so you could be the best. Or at least that was how the young Seishou viewed it. But again, the then eight-year-old girl left the topic undisputed, preferring not to cause trouble between herself and her parents.
Over the course of the following year, Miyoko mastered almost all of the basic jutsu genin knew—she also came to realize that though she had long since been eligible to enter into Otogakure’s ninja academy, she was not allowed, while her cousin, Katoko, was-- he always told her how great it was to be around kids his own age who he could play with. She grew jealous of him, and often would poke at the subject to her parents, though they mostly ignored it in favour of distracting her in some other way. The eight-year old girl played and trained with her cousin, babied her little sister, and learned as much as she could from her father while gradually evoking the worry of her mother. The change in her mother’s demeanour towards her was what caught the young girl’s attention the most—sometimes she would catch Miyami staring at her with sad eyes, or tearful ones, and though she would ask why, she never got a response.
That changed on her ninth birthday. Her father had a particularly large get together, inviting most of the family members in their line—and some of the other ninja and their children around. It was a happy affair—but at the same time, with a undertone of dread and depression. By the end of the day, all Miyoko could really feel was the eyes on her. Like all of the people present, at least in the case of the older attendees, knew something she did not. But she still tried to enjoy herself. At the conclusion, however, as everybody left and her sister was laid down for bed, her father pulled her to the side, and began by telling her the history of their clan. Soon, her mother joined them.
It was then that she was told what she had been born into. They explained to her the position she held in the clan, and how her tenth birthday would go—which also told why her ninth had been so celebrated; it possibly was her last. At first, she was terrified. What normal nine-year-old wouldn’t be? Being told she was born to be put into a death match with her cousin—her cousin of all people—was horrifying and not possible because things like that didn’t happen to good girls who did what they were told. The longer she thought about it though, as she sat in her father’s lap and cried, the more it made sense. Why she was trained earlier than others, why she didn’t go to the academy, why her mother had been looking at her in that mournful way.
And taking an attitude much higher than her years would normally allow, she vowed to win. Starting the next day she asked her father to train her harder—if there was one thing she did not want, it was to die before she really had the chance to live. Now, she had a goal. To win the battle, and to become the leader of her clan, making her father proud of her. She not only grew proficient in all of her skills—she mastered them. Her small size meant she was not as strong in taijutsu, but her quickness and evasive skills well made up for it. Lacking a more than average size chakra pool, she made use by perfecting her control, making sure not to waste any of it if possible. Her clones, substitutions, and even her grasp on basic fuuton jutsu (which she learned at the beginning of that year was her nature), were all beyond normal. She could dispel basic genjutsu (though she knew it wasn’t a technique she really needed for this fight, given the strengths of Takun), and was well versed in most weaponry.
All in all, she was a machine that had been in the developing stages since she could walk. And now, as the year passed by faster than most of her others, and her birthday drew nearer, all of those stages were coming together to form the talented and prodigal young shinobi hopeful.
Despite her age, Miyoko didn’t find herself very scared until a week before her birthday. It was then, when she found her father trying to comfort her bawling mother while she shouted at him, damning him and his damn clan for taking her baby away, did it really crush her as to what she was facing. This wasn’t just something she could push through, like a new technique—this was something that had a likely chance of killing her, if she made a single mistake. The fear almost crushed her—she ran away from it, into the rice fields, and stayed out there for hours, going between sobbing and wanting to keep running. Eventually, her cousin Katoko came to find her, and he was the one that told her she had to come back, or else he’d be sad. The young seven-year old had not been told of his older cousin’s fate and thus was ignorant of what exactly he was asking her, but it was still enough to convince her to return, hand in hand with him.
At the end of that week, on the morning of her tenth birthday, she woke up early and was taken to a small arena-like building in the Seishou District of the village. It was never used normally, and as she found, was created solely for the Child Battles, and later used for any other battle between clansmen that was of great import. Upon entrance, she saw for the first time up close the other side of her family—on a usual basis they ignored each other, and pretended as though the other did not exist. It was surprising to find so many people who looked like her in the most basic of characteristics (the gray, colourless features, mostly), and it made her want to cry that when it came down to it, they all wanted to see her die.
The battle began without much else done—a clan elder told both her and her cousin Takun what was to happen, that they would fight and whoever came out on top would take the Reigning title for their line, and become the next clan leader (it was conveniently left out that it was a death match, and the only way to win was to kill the other). It was to be expected that Takun would immediately try to beat her down with his taijutsu, using his superior strength to try and pierce her defenses. She was not thrown off guard by this method, and deflected his first attack easy enough utilizing blasts of fuuton when he got close, trying to set her footing in.
The fight was well matched—he had strength and brute force, while she had speed and technique, and the two were well matched given his three years advantage over her. A misuse of a shadow clone though, or at least the attempt thereof, almost completely depleted her chakra stores. She had not meant to try that jutsu, confusing the feeling for a regular bunshin and a kage bunshin in the middle of the fight. The mistake almost cost her the entire fight—the only good thing being that the shadow clone was able to fight beside her, and double team her cousin. But quickly with no chakra to run on, she and the clone faltered repeatedly until it was dispelled, and she was then at her cousin’s mercy—which would not come.
With her on the floor with Takun about to chakra-enforced kick her face in, a saving grace swept into the situation and saved her. As she raised her hand to try and deflect the attack, her Kouki Seigyo—left more prominent in her chakra networks by the lack of chakra coursing through them, flared into life. The movement and activation threw up a shield of pure energy that Takun crashed into, which broke his leg to begin with. Instantaneously after the hit, the shield threw him back in a explosion, which knocked Miyoko out from the force (though she only suffered a concussion and a fractured hand as a result) and killed her cousin from the power of the explosion, sending him back to crack his head open against the area’s wall while simultaneously breaking ribs that broke inwards to pierce organs.
When she woke up, a little under a week later, it was to her immediate family right around her in her room and sigh-mingled tears of relief. It was a very happy occasion, but Miyoko was very adversely affected by what she had done-- although it had been ingrained into her mind that it was needed, killing her own cousin proved to be a very traumatizing experience. Nightmares would plague her nightly until she turned fourteen, and following that they still affect her even to the current day on particularly stressful nights. Her physical injuries included the severe concussion, fractured hand, three cracked ribs, a sprained ankle, and various cuts and bruises. They took her, with the medical aid of her aunt's healing jutsu, a good three months to mostly recover from, though the fractured hand continued to cause her problems for the next year until a more specialized healer looked at it.
After those three months of recovery, the new clan-leader-to-be was launched into another regime of training-- but this time, to make up for lost time. Now that her Kouki Seigyo was activated, she had lost her prowess in all areas except her speed, which was still hindered because of her lack of chakra-enhanced movement. It was a devastating realisation, and not one they had thought to inform her of fully in case she should activate her kekkei genkai. It had just been taken for granted that she had connected two and two together. However, the extra training did the girl good-- it was a suitable distraction from her inner-strife, which centered around her perceived murder.
The pace she went and bettered at was incredible-- she was a natural with the energy in her veins, and proved to be just as powerful with it as she had been with chakra. But praise went to her head, and at age eleven, she attempted a jutsu beyond her power at the point-- a bullet of energy projected at a high velocity. The force of the attack backfired up her arm, shaking apart the atoms in her bones and muscles. The bones fractured all the way up to her shoulder, and the muscles expanded so much they broke apart the skin. The pain from the self-inflicted injury was excruciating-- she was lucky that the backfire had stopped at her shoulder. This injury, which took her over six months to heal with healing jutsu in aid, proved to be a very humbling experience for her. Following it, she was much more careful about the jutsu she tried, and strove even harder to gain better control so as to prevent it from happening ever again.
The following years went by fairly uneventfully. She spent most of her time training both in her kekkei genkai, and being guided through the peculiarities of being the clan leader, and how to be a politician. Groomed from that point on in the basics of policy and diplomacy between both the two lines of the clan and between other clans, Miyoko became a central part of Otogakure’s upper tier of leaders beneath her father’s guiding hand. But the fact that she was unable to truly became a shinobi bothered her at age thirteen, and so, after months of begging, she was allowed special status as a genin at fourteen (since Seishous with an activated kekkei genkai were doomed to fail the Academy Exit Exam, due to their particular techniques), and participated in the earliest chunnin exams, three months later.
She flew through it with her designated team of two others who had odd situations, and passed with flying colours—no less was to be expected from the young Seishou, but still it was a great accomplishment for her, and she prided herself in it. Her cousin, a genin, and her sister, a new academy student, both looked up to her. Although Miyoko often felt left out because of her inability to really train with them with their techniques, she was able to train her own hand-to-hand combat with theirs, and help them with things she had learned from before, though they were no longer applicable to her own fighting style. It was with these two that she grew closest, her cousin becoming her best friend and her sister always a source of smiles.
Despite her status as the to-be-leader, Miyoko still accepted missions in the name of Oto, and drew even more recognition to her clan. It was very unusual for a member with the Kouki Seigyo to become a ninja, due to their inability to perform in sync with other shinobi, while those without it normally became medic-nin because of their inborn superior control of chakra which would sometimes carry over to their kekkei genkai, or spies because of their natural resistance to genjutsu, making them harder to deceive.
Her dedication to her village showed very quickly and as did her advanced skills. She could easily match most jounin in the village, and as her fifteenth birthday approached, and she was prepped for that, she was offered a chance to try for jounin rank, only two weeks prior to her official induction as clan leader. After being properly tested, she was granted the promotion just in time to recover her strength for the ceremony, where, on October 31st, she was officially declared as the Seishou clan leader.
But that was not all. Also on that same day, the identity of her arranged fiancee was revealed-- Yuudaru Kai, a talented shinobi in his own right, with appealing enough features and a strong personality that seemed to match Miyoko’s. The young girl accepted the engagement without a word, taking the ring he offered with a nod of her head and a blank expression. Although he was four years her superior, he was far from better than her in just about any way, though he did put up a fairly good match against her in spars. Following their engagement, as custom dictated, they finalised the arrangement by agreeing to maintain a physical relationship until she became pregnant, which, afterwards, would be followed by their official marriage.
It was an odd thing for her to experience—she had been told from a young age that sex was something to be shared between two people that cared for each other, but the feelings she held towards Kai were nothing more than friendly. He was nice enough, yes, and she wasn’t blind to see that he actually was growing to care for her over the following year, but she couldn’t find it within her to force any feelings for him. It was now that her lax view on sexual relations began, seeing it as just a casual thing—and a pleasurable one at that. Katoko thought her views funny, and said his aunt (her mother) would skin her alive if she ever heard that kind of talk from her. Which was true. But that didn't change her thoughts at all.
Her sixteenth birthday passed without much celebration, and still she had not managed to become pregnant. The loyalty she felt towards her clan made this an issue of discontent in her home, both with her father and with her fiancee-- her child would be the one to face a battle on their tenth birthday, just as she had, and it was well known that Seishou Yameri was already almost to term with her first child. Time was becoming a factor, and though the doctors at the hospital tested both Kai and herself for fertility, they could not see a reason she had no conceived. So they continued trying, though it was getting to the point Miyoko was tempted to just go and sleep with another male with features similar to Kai's, just to see if the doctors had been wrong.
Past this conflict, her life went on fair uneventfully. Six months after her birthday, the chunnin exams were held once more. Although as an already accomplished jounin with a clan to lead, this would not have normally interested her, her cousin was to be tested in this one. She personally made it a point to attend, to cheer on her clanmate and best friend-- she was proud of how skilled he was, and how much what she had taught him helped him. He made it through the first two trials unscathed, but in the third, a fluke move of his opponent led to tragedy in the arena.
Miyoko was present and leaning forward in her seat when his opponent, a genin even older than she (he was one year her older), lashed out in desperation. He was losing to Katoko, and the match was obviously won by the younger boy. The exams were not meant to be fights to the death, Otogakure being too small to bother with such extremes. So when Katoko put down his hands with a triumphant smile, and the genin, Kane Takuku, threw a barrage of kunai and shuriken at him, he was unprepared. The normally easily deflected attack caught him off guard, and a shuriken lodged itself into his throat while a kunai caught him in the eye, piercing into his brain.
The horror and outrage that ensued was overwhelming, and the rage and grief that Miyoko felt were stronger than anything else she had felt in her life. Just like that, Takuku (who, coincidentally was Yameri's soon-to-be husband) had taken from her the closest person she had. It took her younger sister and Kai holding her literally down to her chair to prevent her from killing him from her seat in the stands, while she screamed her fury into nothing, while the medics declared her best friend, and cousin, dead.
Miyoko's mental state began to slip after this, and she fell into a slight depression. She grew very withdrawn, and it took her months to get back on her feet with the gentle coaxing of her sister and her mother, and the scolding of her father. The young clan leader spent much time with her aunt, finding only she truly understood her grief, and the two found comfort in each other's company. Despite the support she received, her view on the things around her grew harsh. She was notably more quiet and did not smile as much as she had previously, but past that, she was able to return to her normal self after a bit of time had healed the outer portion of her loss. On the inside, however, she still grew upset when alone during the times she would have normally spent with Katoko, and when not sleeping with Kai, cried herself to fitful nightmares.
Another landmark hit her soon enough after her seventeenth birthday. It seemed after over two years of trying (though her depression over Katoko's death meant they had taken a long break), she was finally pregnant. The happiness that her clan, and Kai, showed exalted her-- although she was saddened that she was introducing a child into the world only to pit it in a battle against its cousin, it was exciting in its own right. She had liked children well enough since her sister had been born, and was good with them-- she had often volunteered at the Academy to help with the younger children. But another change also occurred here.
Miyoko finally grew to see Kai as something more than just a tool she was using to further her clan, surprise striking her when she saw how excited and honestly delighted he was. He seemed able to talk for hours about the things he would teach his son (he was convinced it was going to be a boy, to which she would snort and just smile, finding herself oddly endeared), and his subtle way of coddling her did not insult her, as it normally would have, but made her wonder if she would be able to hold any true feelings for him after all. Mostly because he put up with her morning sickness and the odd cravings, which he always tried to cater to, and she figured if he thought enough of her to do that, then he must be good enough to be more than just 'the one she was engaged to because her father said so.' It wasn't a very significant change, but she grew less brusque with him, and tried harder to be nicer (when she wasn't vomiting or trying to identify what she wanted to eat).
But after four months of being pampered and treated all swell, and just as she was starting to swell at the lower stomach, she grew noticeably antsy-- she was tired of having to stay home and do nothing after having spent years taking all the missions she could. Against the wishes of both her family and Kai, she took a C-rank escort mission of a fairly small merchant's caravan to the Leaf. It was supposed to be a very easy, simple mission-- only ranked C because of the importance of the caravan, which held very expensive goods. But of course, it wouldn't end that way.
The procession, guarded by her and two chunnin who had been bored enough to accept the mission, were ambushed by a large group of rogue Leaf nin at night, during the chunnin's watch. Had Miyoko been awake, she would have sensed the large source of energy long before it drew close enough to even notice their presence, let alone launch an attack. The chunnin were killed almost instantly, and it was their cries that woke the rest of the camp, and Miyoko. The site soon became a massacre-- the merchants were quickly dispatched, and soon it was only the young clan leader against the majority of the rogues. She was fairly good in out-numbered positions, but fifteen to one was very much pushing her limits. The fight was quick to drain her reserves-- those that came too close she killed with the Konki no Dageki, which worked to wreak havoc on their internal organs, killing them in minutes. But still, as the count neared six to one (the rest were long-range ninjas) she was running nearly on low.
Her control began to slip-- her strikes began to hurt her as panic overtook her, and she broke the bones in her hands as she tried to send out Konki no Dangans. The attacks were easily avoided, and just as she was nearing low, absolute desperation struck the Seishou. Using a technique she had only been attempting on a small scale before now (and had stopped after realizing she was pregnant because of the repercussions it held on her body), she took all the energy from the immediate area, from the trees and plants and earth itself, and shot it out in a massive wave of force extending around her. The blast, given how close her opponents were and the sheer amount of energy used, was enough to knock the rogues out, and cause fatal injuries.
Unfortunately, the same was for Miyoko. Her body being unused to that much energy, despite the speed at which she had dispelled it and the proficiency with which she used the Kouki Seigyo, the technique brutally injured her from the inside out given her desperate state and how it had affected her ability to perform. She managed to crack three of her ribs, cause much trauma to her organs, and give herself a severe concussion. But not just that. The internalising of so much energy had not only rattled her own body, but also the one growing within her.
She had unintentionally killed her child.
It was not long before another group of shinobi, on the way to Oto, traveled along the road and found the ruins of what was left of the caravan, as well as the near-death jounin. Luckily enough, her uncle Jokuun was in their group, and skilled medic as he was, was able to bring her back to a stable enough condition to transport her back to Oto. Still in critical condition, however, she went through immediate surgery as soon as she reached the hospital to remove the dead fetus, and upon closer inspection it was seen that the damage to her reproductive organs was irreparable under the current circumstances, and had to be completely removed.
It took the older teen a full month to be able to recover enough to leave the hospital, and another three to recover fully from her injuries. Even with the aid of healing jutsu, without chakra to quicken the process, she healed just as slow as a civilian. However, her mind did not heal as at even that rate-- or at all, for that matter.
She very quickly slipped into a severe depression after being informed of the results of her injuries and the termination of her pregnancy. Nightmares of her failure and brush with death plagued her sleep, feelings of absolute despair lingered over her constantly, and it culminated into self-damaging actions. The doctors at the hospital said it was an expected reaction, and partially caused by the sudden influx of hormones, and could do nothing for her except right the inbalance, which, in the end, had little to no impact.
After her physical injuries had healed, and her clan and those close to her thought she would resume her former position, it came as a surprise to see her relinquish her leadership in the Seishou clan, handing it over to her younger sister, instead. Hikaru declined, horrified at the thought, and the position went back up to their father. Without even speaking to Kai she broke off their engagement, and refused to discuss it with him, though he actively pursued her to try and alleviate her state of mind, as well as convince her otherwise. But she refused to give him the time of day, and ignored the protests of her family. In order to escape them, she hid away in the slinkier parts of the village, in bars that allowed her through without asking her age, and ended up looking for ways to avoid her perceived shortcomings.
Miyoko fell into period of drinking and sleezing around, not giving a shit to her former responsibilities and feeling, overall, like a complete failure. She couldn't even protect a simple caravan, or have the control to protect her own child. How could she be expected to lead a whole clan? She moved out of the Seishou district, much to her family's dismay, and immersed herself into her career as a shinobi after she managed to sneak by the psych dep. with a faked clean bill of mental health. She was far from mentally sound at this point, but she needed to distract herself. Between the nights spent either at various different bars or in the company of nameless faces, and missions that got increasingly more dangerous as she gained more recognition in the eyes of the Oto lord, she was able to, for the most part, prevent herself from thinking about what had happened.
As a professional she managed to stay in good repute-- few knew of her nightlife, and it was not openly advertised. All in all, her superiors didn't care, as it did not affect how she performed while on the job. She had grown to be considered on of the Oto lord's top shinobi, and was often called upon for her opinion and to help with strategic councils, as well as daily life within the village. Her experience as clan leader had practically preened her for such a position, and a year after the incident, she was informed that she would be promoted to Lady in the upcoming months, the Oto lord feeling too old and out-of-date to maintain the position, and viewing her as a well-capable successor.
It was the presentation of this information that made her change. Still having much self control, the eighteen year old quit her nightly adventures and escapades. Instead they turned into a more recreational thing instead of one she absolutely depended on to keep her sanity, and she came to terms with what had happened, more or less because of the combined effect of the upcoming promotion, and also because of her former fiancee.
One night after finding her at a tavern she frequented a year after the incident, Kai blew up on her. He started yelling in the middle of the establishment, and called her out for giving up and becoming a shadow of what she had once been. All in all, he said a lot of things that she would have, had she been the same person she was before, probably thrown him onto death’s bed for. But she was appalled, and overall ashamed-- she knew he was right, and after having been told that she was believed to be more than just a grunt, it dawned on her through the cloud of depression that she had to clean up her act, if only to be a good leader for the entire village. The attitude that had been ingrained into her from birth—that she had to perform her best for the betterment of those under her command—came back in full throttle, and helped her work past herself.
After the confrontation with Kai, she steered away from him as much as possible. She did not engage in any individual conversation, wanting to work past the part of her life that he had played a part in, and he, for the most part, left her alone. Miyoko is unsure of how she would react if she were to meet up with him again, but that has not been an issue since the event has happened.
And so at the age of eighteen she was promoted to the position of Lady of Otogakure, the third leader of the official village. Within the first few months of her rule, she quickly set down a very strict system, based on the ideas of a social contract. She guaranteed care for all of the villagers, and ensured that their needs catered to, while in return they performed their missions and maintained the village in a very organized manner. The civilians in the area were also incorporated, and they were paid and protected for their work—from crop growing to whatever skills they possessed (carpenting, blacksmithing, etc).
Within the year, though, a thought had begun to fester inside of the young Lady's head, and resulted in the formation of a special group of people who dubbed themselves Kurai. Miyoko's thought was that the world itself was too disorganised-- there was too much chaos, not enough security, and overall, it was too fractioned to change anything. Too much power lay in individual hands, and there was no way to usurp that without taking to drastic measures which would mean the end of the world as they knew it. And she wasn't afraid to start that kind of change. So the revolution began.
It was easy enough to start the change. She went for the lower ranks-- the civilians, and the small people. Sending out her men (who she discretely kept her relation to mostly secret), she created terror in their midst. Terror made people lose their minds-- turn against their neighbours. With the new drugs and weapons her scientists developed being spread, along with the fear of being struck from the shadows, it was obvious the hold that the villages had over their populace was waning, especially as Miyoko managed to get her spies to infiltrate the high ups throughout the shinobi world.
It was not long before she, head of Kurai, had basically managed to topple the entire order and bring it to its knees. The fact of the matter was saddening-- that a single person with enough drive could do as much was not a positive testament to the world in itself, but it was an encouragement for the gang ruler. Obviously there needed to be a change if such a thing could have happened so easily, right?
Throughout the whole process, she began to change. The level of 'bitch' she exuded appeared to increase, and she started to become even more emotionally detached than she had been before. And that was saying something. Miyoko was still fair enough, even though she was coined as brutal and unrelenting (especially to outsiders), and she remained reluctant to trust anyone outside of those she had known since childhood. She kept her family close, and even almost succeeded in diminishing the discrimination between the two Seishou lines, though they still ran deep enough to create a noticeable cleavage between the two.
In addition, it was during this time that she began her own experimentation, utilizing clan scrolls that were forbidden to all but the leaders, and elders within the clan. Using them, she was able to expound on what the founders had originally created, and made further advancements to the Kouki Seigyo-- she developed a way to 'harden' the walls of the energy networks, making it easier to control the energy that coursed through her body, and as a result, was able to make bounds and leaps in the way of techniques. Although she had already been talented enough to handle the manipulation of 'living energy,' she was now able to do it for longer stretches of time, and without as many repercussions.
But as good things were all doomed to go to shit, after her monumental defeat over the major villages with the imprisonment of the Godaime Hokage, the uprising of rebels began. With Haruno Sakura at its head, the opposing gang, Hozuki, made its appearance, much to Miyoko's irritation. The group caused much problems, and grew to be such a hindrance that with the coupled threat of the renewed Akatsuki, Fumetsuhi, also stabbing at her from the side, the young leader felt the intense need to crush both of them like the pests they were.
Fumetsuhi was easy enough-- with an arrangement with one of its few members, Kyoshoku Kemuri, she was able to use the information she fed to her as a way to bring the organisation crashing down, while also indulging in other activities with the powerful woman. Following, it was not soon after that her spies in the Konoha area managed to track and tag Sakura and her little foxboy to their camp, which had been cleverly enough disguised up until then, and capture many of the Hozuki members and scare off or kill the rest. In a show of stupid strength, she forced the captured Hozuki leader to witness the absolute destruction of the fruits of her hard work, using the not-quite developed Horobosu technique.
It took her the better part of a month to fully recover from the move, having almost killed herself in the sheer intensity and power it had taken her to complete the feat-- the area would no longer grow or be inhabitable for decades, and it was the mental effect that she had prized so greatly. She knew that the rest of the rebel group retreated then to the far north, to Yuki, where she was just about far too unwilling to send her men after, as they were fairly harmless at such a distance.
Now, with Hozuki fairly out of the way for the time being, Miyoko is trying to find a way to undermine the Akatsuki's position in the world and to make it crumble just as she did its predecessor. Her goal remains the same, though her enthusiasm has managed to fall in the most recent times. Sometimes she feels her efforts are futile and will eventually amount of nothing, but she would never portray or say as much to her followers, and instead trucks on steadily with her goals still in mind.

jutsus | NOTE. ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT TECHNICALLY JUTSU. They do not utilize chakra, and instead rely on pure energy that the Kouki Seigyo allows the Seishou member to manipulate. Ninja from the Seishou clan with an activated Kouki Seigyo can ONLY perform clan techniques-- they cannot perform any true nin or gen or taijutsu that require the release of chakra.
SECONDARY NOTE: Miyoko is a master at the Kouki Seigyo, and has further enhanced her kekkei genkai to decrease the chances of backfires or harming herself. Therefore, she is able to perform the more advanced techniques of her clan easily, and without as much risk, and has also managed to tap into a variety of techniques found to be rare in her clan, and expound even further upon them. This can be found in more detail on the Clan page, under Inanimate vs. Animate. - Jutsu Name: Kanousei no Suitoru (Energy Absorption)
Rank: E What It Does: By touching a strong source of potential energy, such as a set trap or a boulder at the top of a hill, the user can absorb most of its energy. This energy is stored inside their body and can be released in her kinetic energy techniques, making them more powerful or increasing their knockback as appropriate. Stored energy can be released all at once or it can be spread out over multiple attacks, and they can store and release energy from multiple sources. An object that had its potential energy removed will move and/or fall very slowly for a little while. Element: None
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Kenshutsu (Energy Detection)
Rank: E What It Does: This is a passive ability that almost all Seishou members hold—even those without the activated Kouki Seigyo, due to the dormant energy still latent in their chakra networks. The Seishou member has the ability to feel energy moving around them—although a ninja can mask his or her chakra signature, they cannot hide the energy of their being. The higher ranked the Seishou, the further away they can sense energy forms. In addition, they can also tell size and how many are in a group, with enough practise. Element: None.
- Jutsu Name: Kanousei no Anrokku (Potential Unlock)
Rank: D What It Does: By making three handseals, the user can trigger any strong source of potential energy in their immediate area, with explosive results. Commonly used to destroy objects with springs in them, such as watches, locks or other little devices. This technique is not terribly powerful, but it is useful in many situations. Element: None
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Toku (Energy Shield)
Rank: D What It Does: This technique allows the user to throw up a temporary shield in front of them that deflects both projectiles and ranged attacks, ie, kunai and fireballs. However, it is cast only where the user holds out their palm-- a literal shield, and leaves the user open to attacks from behind if they do not pay enough attention. A strong enough attack can break the shield, with enough force, depending on the user's strength. Element: None Cons:: Leaves user open to attacks from behind if not paying attention. Strong enough attacks can break the shield.
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Shuuha (Energy Wave)
Rank:C What It Does: User can fire off an arc-shaped wave of kinetic energy with a swinging motion, often accented by a sword. This wave can punch through ordinary walls, hurl enemies backwards and crack solid rock if concentrated enough. Element: None Cons:: Can backfire, sending the user backwards instead.
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Bakufuu (Energy Blast)
Rank: B What It Does: The user spreads their stance for balance and thrusts their palm out. They fires a pulse of kinetic energy that spreads out in front of them but does not travel very far. At extreme close range, this attack can forcefully knock the enemy back about 10 feet, as if they had been hit by a small car. Can result in concussion and knock the breath out of the opponent. At medium range it can deflect a projectile attack, or knock the enemy back slightly but forcefully, as if they had walked into a wall, dazing them. This attack is wide enough that it is near impossible to dodge at close range, but it is easily avoided if the opponent keeps their distance. The attack takes a lot of focus, and leaves the user open to attack from behind. In addition, it can backfire if not focused properly. Element: None Cons:: Requires much focus-- if distracted, the user will not direct the energy in the right direction, and it will instead burst at their hands, causing potential damage to the user. Leaves the user open to attack from behind if not paying attention.
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Kyodan (Massive Energy Projectile)
Rank: B What It Does: While in midair, the user swings their arm as if throwing a kunai. They fires an absurdly fast kinetic energy projectile from their hand that hits the ground, making a small but powerful shockwave on impact. The chakra projectile “glances” off the ground, so the blast is more of an oval that faces the user than a perfect circle, about 10 feet long and 5 feet across. This also means that a direct hit will very forcefully hurl the target into the air, and depending on the power, have the strength to give a concussion or crack bones. Element: None Cons:: Requires advanced control of kouki seigyo. The projectile is hard to control and aim, which means the chances of a direct hit are ridiculously slim-- usually the opponent is just blown back by the resulting shockwave. Can backfire.
- Jutsu Name: Miwaku no Konki Happa (Energy Blast Lure)
Rank: B What It Does: To avoid engaging an opponent at long range, a Seishou can focus their energy into compressed darts and fire at a very high trajectory that is more or less aimed at their opponent. The chakra-infused darts build up massive amounts of kinetic energy as they fall, and they make sizable shockwaves of considerable power that leave small craters when they hit the ground, but it is easy to dodge. The point of this technique is actually not hitting the opponent so much as forcing a ranged opponent towards the user into a close-ranged battle, or else forcing them to seek cover. Element: None Cons: Requires a lot of energy-- depending on the amount of projectiles sent into the air. About a full eighth of total stores. Friendly fire possible. Max three times per battle.
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Myaku (Energy Pulse)
Rank: C-B depending on power used What It Does: This is a technique typically used to force many opponents back to try and retreat and recuperate. The user takes a deep breath and then concentrates their energy outwards, sending a literal pulse of energy from their body that, depending on the proximity of the enemy, can fling them back or make them stagger, dazed. Strength of pulse depends on the user. Can also be used to deflect a multitude of projectiles at once. Element:None Cons: Can backfire and cause damage to the user instead. Requires a hefty amount of energy—from a sixteenth to a tenth of the user’s total amount.
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Tengai (Energy Dome)
Rank: B What It Does: The user creates a dome around them made completely of potential energy. It acts as a shield that protects the user from all angles (basically an improved and enlarged Konki no Toku), and has all the characteristics otherwise of the Toku. It works well as a temporary use (normally to protect the user while searching a energy source to replenish themself during battle), but is very ill suited for long term battle use. Element: None Cons: Drains the user's energy reserves at a slow but constant rate, with spikes in sappage as the shield is struck. Can result in complete drainage of user's energy if not careful to dispel the technique.
- Jutsu Name: Kanousei no Kyuuzou (Potential Explosion)
Rank: B-A What It Does: A more advanced form of Kanousei no Anrokku. An energy-aware Seishou uses this technique much to their advantage, seeing as it does not actually require any energy from their own stores. Instead, since the user can sense large amounts of potential energy, with enough control over their kekkei genkai the user can turn that energy into kinetic with enough focus. Whatever the object is (a stone, weapon, etc), it will explode with the sudden change, unable to maintain shape as the atoms begin to move against each other in a unstabilizing fashion. Element: None Cons: The user must be fairly close to the object, depending on rank, putting them in range to be struck by shrapnel. Requires concentration that the opponent can use to spring an attack—they will be distracted for five to ten seconds, depending on rank.
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Fuusa (Energy Blockade)
Rank: B-A depending on thickness of ‘blockade’ and time held up What It Does: Similar to the Konki no Toku, this technique is merely a more advanced form. The energy put into it is exponentially higher than in the Toku—the shield of energy that is put up is much more stable, and can take much more damage before giving out. Will repel other A rank jutsu, though will shatter after enough hits. Element: None Cons: Requires large amounts of energy—at least an eighth of total reserves to start. Saps energy if it is kept up when hit repeatedly. Leaves user open to attacks from behind if not using situational awareness.
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Tengai Haretsu (Explosive Energy Dome)
Rank: A What It Does: After having created the original Konki no Tengai, instead of letting the dome just drop, they can instead expel the energy in a surge of kinetic energy. This results in a large shockwave that expels from all angles around the Seishou member. It will only have an effect if the opponent is nearby enough to be caught in the blast (in a perimeter of fifteen to twenty feet). This technique requires a large amount of energy from the user, and can, if used while unfocused, crush the user and catch them off guard, causing concussion and knocking them off their feet and leaving them open to retaliation. Element: None Cons: Can only be used a max of twice per battle. Requires a full fifth of total energy reserves Needs to be close range to have any effect. If user does not focus the energy outwards, it will instead rush towards them and crush/stagger them, leaving them vulnerable and potentially concussed or otherwise broken.
- Jutsu Name: Sessen Konki no Bakudan (Close Combat Energy Bomb)
Rank: A What It Does: To avoid engaging an opponent at close range, the user can shoot a small kinetic energy projectile at the ground right in front of them. It explodes at their feet, knocking their opponent back and hurling them into the air. This is a emergency technique, made to get out of a tight position so that the clan member can retreat and, usually, gather more energy. The effects depend on the power and size of the projectile-- it can range from bruises from the impact after being flung backwards, to broken bones and concussions at the explosion. It is not meant to be an offensive jutsu, but affects both user and opponent in that way while acting as a offensive. Once per battle. Element: None Cons: Only once per battle-- causes same damage to user as does opponent. Requires a full fifth of total energy reserves. Usually last ditch effort.
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Dangan (Energy Bullet)
Rank: A What It Does: The user forms a small ball of energy in their palm, and then shoots it towards the opponent, at an incredibly high speed. If it hits, the opponent will be sent backwards, and depending on where the bullet hit/how large it was, can have up to broken or cracked bones and internal bleeding. Ranked A for potential to cause death if the bullet hits the target over the heart, or in the head, which would cause massive amounts of trauma. Element: None Cons: Requires time; a minimum of ten seconds) to form the bullet. If concentration is lost or enemy interrupts the formation, will result in an outward explosion that will affect user and opponent if too close. Will break user’s bones in hand and potentially more if backfires.
- Jutsu Name: Kanousei no Baikyuu Kenshutsu (Increased Energy Detection)
Rank: A What It Does: This technique is one that requires the combined force of multiple Seishou members to maintain it and keep it working as it’s meant to. It is a technique that amplifies the normal Konki no Kenshutsu by having the combined efforts of Seishous in order to keep a constant watch on the area that is being included in the perimeter. The detection range is in the shape of a circle, with a radius that extends in all directions from the center, which is usually one specific Seishou that is given the task of specifically monitoring the area, called the Centerman. The role of Centerman is rotated between the Seishous involved in shifts, so maximum awareness is achieved. Other Seishous lend their energy while within the perimeter in order to keep it stable and from constantly draining the Centerman.
It also allows for them to share the same level of detection—for example, if a beginning user of the Kouki Seigyo were to become a part while an advanced member were a part, that beginner would not be limited to the same sensing level as their level would normally dictate, and instead be able to ‘see’ and monitor the area at the same level as that advanced member, though the advanced member is not the center and merely a part of it. Element: None Note: This technique is being used on the main Kurai base in Konoha, and is the reason why Miyoko appears to have absolute knowledge of everything that happens in and around her camp. Created after the idea of Konoha's World Barrier. Cons: Requires the combined efforts of multiple Seishous to distribute the needed energy equally on more than one person to make it less tasking. If the Centerman is disabled, the whole technique dissipates until it is restarted and a new Centerman is selected and installed. Acts as a passive draining-- a certain fraction of each Seishou's energy supplies will be taken by this technique, which is why the more the better.
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Dageki (Energy Strike)
Rank: S What It Does: This technique can only be utilized by Seishou members with very advanced control of their kekkei genkai—higher levelled jounin and up. It is a style of fighting used at very close range, that has been said to resemble the Hyuuga clan’s Gentle Fist technique. The user focuses large amounts of kinetic energy to their fingertips, and upon striking, can cause massive amounts of damage to the struck area. The energy, upon hitting the opponent, shoots through their flesh and disrupts everything in its way. For example, if the strike hits a bone, the bone will shatter because of the highly concentrated nature of this technique. This is due to the fact that the energy itself will cause the atoms in the bone to move rapidly against one another in such a fashion that it won’t be able to stay solid, and depending on the strength of the hit, will splinter apart. Element: None. Cons: Must be close range. Must have excellent energy control. If it backfires, the technique will shatter the user’s own bones in their hand up to their shoulder, depending on the strength of the strike. Significant energy loss—depending on the strike strength and reserves of the user, this style of fighting can only be used for a range of two to five minutes.
- Jutsu Name: Konki no Shinjuu (Energy Double Suicide)
Rank: S What It Does: This justu is very much a last ditch effort. The user calls together the remaining energy they have within them, and summons it together at a centered point of buildup in their hands. By clapping their hands together, the Seishou creates a massive explosion of energy, even stronger than the Sessen Konki no Bakudan. This explosion severely injures the user, and if the opponent was in range, the opponent. The range depends on the amount of energy the Seishou had left, but is typically within a five to fiteen feet radius. This explosion is very abrupt, and incredibly fast, but has the same effects on the user as does the opponent. It is considered a suicide tactic, because even if the user did survive, they would not for long-- being so close to the explosion results in broken/exploded bones and ruptured organs, with massive internal bleeding as well as severe head trauma. If the opponent is close, the same injuries will result, lessening the further they were from the explosion.
Note: This jutsu is only taught to Seishou members as a way to avoid enemy capture, and to hide their clan's secrets-- the explosion calls for all their energy, leaving none behind, and collapses their energy pathways, effectively removing almost all traces of their kekkei genkai from the body. Element: None Cons: Close range for full effect. Uses all remaining energy in the user. Suicide tactic-- unless immediately tended, death is most probable.
- Jutsu Name: Seisoku Kanousei no Suitoru (Living Energy Absorption)
Rank: S What It Does: A more advanced form of the Kanousei no Suitoru, this technique utilizes the same idea. By touching or concentrating on a source of energy, the user can absorb it into their own body. However, this is different in the fact that it uses energy from living things—normally plants or trees, though it can extend to animal organisms as well. This technique has a very high risk rate to the well-being of the user, and can very easily overwhelm them. Very few Seishous are even allowed to attempt this technique on smaller organisms. The sheer amount of energy that is transferred is usually too much to handle, as it is more volatile in comparison to the ‘dead’ energy of unanimated objects. The only way that a Seishou can typically handle this kind of technique is if on complete low, if they are capable of absolute and complete control of the Kouki Seigyo and can absorb only smaller amounts (which are still fairly huge compared to energy from nonliving objects), or if they release the energy almost instantaneously. Element: None Note: Seishou Miyoko, after having gone through clan scrolls and using different combinations of drugs that had been developed in underground Kurai labs, has managed to further advance the Kouki Seigyo to permit her to hold in energy (both from living and nonliving sources) for longer [ten to fifteen seconds], and to be able to create more destructive and monumental techniques because of her increased control over the energy, due to more ‘solid’ energy channels. For full explanation, see SEISHOU CLAN. Cons:This technique is highly dangerous to the user—only truly and naturally talented masters of the Kouki Seigyo are allowed to attempt it, and it is considered a forbidden technique within the clan. Holding the energy in for more than the body can hold [usually only two to five seconds] will result in massive internal hemorrhaging, and almost always death. It is much harder to control and more often its use results in backfires (which results in shattered bones and burst limbs).
- Jutsu Name: Seisoku Kanousei no Horobosu (Living Energy Ruin)
Rank: S What It Does: Using this technique, Miyoko uses the idea of the Seisoku Kanousei no Suitoru to take in a massive amount of energy from the surrounding area. The perimeter of the space she takes the energy from is the deciding factor of the strength of the technique. This technique deliberately takes all the available energy from the designated area, and then is fired off in the form of a huge ball of energy that can be directed in any direction—usually harmlessly upwards to prevent a mistake and death. The difference between this technique and the usual Suitoru is that it saps away all living energy from the surrounding area on a much larger scale, leaving it completely dead and void of all life. It’s a technique purely for the ruining of an area, not just to replenish energy stores. Element: None Note: Seishou Miyoko used THIS technique to destroy the Hozuki camp. She was borderline comatose after, and has only used it on such a large scale that one time. It is mostly for shock and awe purposes-- not well suited for battle AT ALL. Cons:Requires the chained use of the Seisoku Kanousei no Suitoru, and has a high chance of backfire to cause mortal injury. High risk of death if concentration fluctuates or if too much energy is attempted to be controlled at once.
