Latrodectus Elegans [Black Widow]

APPEARANCE:
That of a traditional black widow spider, black with a red cross on the back. The legs are long and spindly, and the spider itself is generally three inches long when first summoned.
One must also remember that though it looks solid and real, it is still an illusion. If sliced she will separate into two, and then if one of those copies is sliced it will separate into two more, and so on. They only disappear when called back or Kemuri runs out of chakra/loses focus.
A reminder that both the spider are made of venomous chakra is necessary, meaning they cannot be ingested or the person or animal who ate them will die.
LOYALTY:
Mamori is much more loyal than her counterpart, Raishuu, but still not completely loyal to Kemuri—she will still kill her if Kemuri loses focus.
JUTSU:

Dokueki Kusuri [Venom Medicine]

PURPOSE:
This is a jutsu unique to Mamori. It counteracts the venomous chakra and draws out the actual spider venom, but only in the host. This move uses Kemuri’s chakra, obviously, though the insect is using it of her own accord. Mamori bites the host and changes the properties of her chakra, causing the venom in the area to cancel out.

Seiitsu [Equality]

PURPOSE:
Used in conjuction with Seiitsu [Equality] from Kesumi’s list. Mamori, once the link is formed with Kemuri’s mind, can be controlled without words or movements, and without chakra. This also allows the insect to take a glance into the target’s mind, but only if her fangs are sunken into the flesh. It only gives the bare minimum of the target’s thoughts: only what is immediately present on the mind is shown.

Yuuchou [Slow]

PURPOSE:
Once summoned, Mamori can creep up the back of the target and by using a bare minimum of venom, can temporarily slow the target. This can only be administered through a bite on either the back of the neck or the temple, and therefore can be easily spotted. The paralysis is minute: appendages will become heavy and hard to move, and the target will feel sleepy. This can only last a maximum of five minutes, depending on the size of the target, and can be used twice in one battle.

PURPOSE:
This is the jutsu that allows the spider to split when hit. The more times it is hit the more it splits, generally into smaller copies that can be resized. The only issue with this jutsu is that it takes more and more chakra as the amount of copies increases, eventually draining Kemuri’s chakra completely. Also, if Kemuri loses focus, she will not be able to control all the copies and has a slight chance of being harmed by her summons.

PURPOSE:
This is the jutsu that allows the spiders to increase or decrease in size. This can either be voluntary, meaning that the spider does it themselves, or involuntary, meaning the Kemuri does it to suit her own purposes.

Raishuu is less loyal than her sister, Mamori, and only remains tied to Kemuri due to the fact that she is the host. The second that Kemuri loses any control she is perfectly poised to kill her and move onto the next host.

PURPOSE:
Raishuu converts the energy she is made of into a true form venom, which she can then inject into her target to wreak havoc. It is toxic, but takes five days to kill a target, giving them ample time to fix the problem. Immediately, though, the user’s appendage will feel as if it is on fire, and their respiratory and cardiovascular processes will speed up.

PURPOSE:
This allows Raishuu to create a spiderweb of any size in less than ten seconds. The strands are infused with chakra to make them transparent and extremely sticky so that she can capture prey or, in most circumstances, her target.

All that this jutsu does is shroud Raishuu’s leg in venom chakra, causing slight toxic effects if a slice hits. Takes minute amounts of chakra from Kemuri.

By changing the properties of the venom chakra and biting the target, Raishuu can cause their vision to blur considerably, as if they were going blind. It is still a toxin and can be permanent if it is not dispelled or treated, but it takes up to a month for the effects to become permanent.
